Safety / OSHA Alignment

SAFETY, OSHA ALIGNMENT & COMPLIANCE

Safety is the foundation of everything we do.
The Peregrine Project follows OSHA‑aligned practices, youth‑serving best practices, and DC regulatory expectations to ensure every participant, senior, volunteer, and staff member is protected.

Our Safety Framework Includes:

  • OSHA‑aligned safety procedures for environmental activities, lifting, tool handling, and outdoor work
  • Adult‑led programming at all times
  • Mandated reporters on staff
  • Background checks for all staff and volunteers
  • Clear supervision ratios
  • Daily safety briefings before any activity
  • Stop‑Work Authority — any staff or youth can pause an activity if something feels unsafe
  • Emergency preparedness protocols
  • Weather monitoring and heat/cold safety thresholds
  • First‑aid and CPR‑trained staff
  • Incident reporting and documentation procedures
  • Strict 7:00 p.m. program cutoff
  • No hazardous activities

This safety infrastructure is integrated into every program area and every youth experience.
